Ok, so your at a film festival in Cannes and you need a screener sent to London from New York or L.A. or to you in Cannes. This happens everyday - yes people still send DVD's in the mail. Lots of them. Well not this week - or last week.
There is a problem with the "cloud". No not that cloud. The cloud computing platforms are holding up to the volcanic ash from Iceland. That "cloud" of volcanic ash is having a huge impact on getting films and TV shows transatlantic.
The silver lining in the volcanic cloud is that cloud computing solutions that eliminate shipping are now the only way to keep oneself busy, or productive if your business is TV and Film, when stuck in a hotel or airport. Ahh the irony of cloud computing.
